Anthem Labs Firewall
Anthem labs Firewall is a 1U rackmount unit that protects
your internal network from external attacks. Based on Smoothwall
technology, the unit features rock solid firewall protection,
Web proxying (web caching), content filtering and virus
protection from virus infected web pages.
The content filtering can be manually edited to fit your
organization’s needs and a subscription service is also
available for a fee (perfectly suited for schools that need
to comply with CIPA). Work is underway to enable different
content filtering for different groups allowing to customized
internet access depending on types of users.
The virus protection allows you to block websites that
embed viruses and the virus definitions are updated daily
to make sure the latest viruses are caught.
VPN passthrough allows remote users to connect to the internal
VPN server and work as if they were seating at a desk in
the office. Plans to VPN connectivity directly on the unit
are in the works.
The unit supports multiple IP addresses and NAT mapping
to allow different services to be forwarded to different
servers on the internal network without affecting security.
The unit’s software can be updated remotely to make sure
your organization is always protected against the latest
security threats.
Extensive logging to check what sites are being accessed
and what services are being used.
The unit has the ability to serve as a DCHP, ideal for
small organizations that don’t have a dedicated DHCP server.
Unit supports dynamic DNS allowing to host certain services
on the internal network even with a dynamic IP.
Unit checks and resets it internal time clock daily. It
synchs to that atomic clock and can propagate the correct
time to the entire internal network.
Features Fully customizable firewall control. It allows
the user to set all the firewall rules and protocols specific
to the organization.
DMZ can be enabled to let a internal computer be seen to
the outside world with no restrictions.
Unit can use a standard modem as a backup connection.
Ability to block access to the network for specific IPs.
Unit can connect to another unit through a VPN connection
allowing multiple remote locations with broadband connections
to act as a single hardwired network.
